It's Kean's turn to charge ethical lapses
He demands Menendez release transcripts from 1982 trial

Star-Ledger

Billy Musto died in February, but the specter of the notorious Hudson County political boss now haunts the campaign for U.S. Senate.

Musto served 35 years in the Legislature and as mayor of Union City, until he was convicted in 1982 on federal corruption charges. Democratic Sen. Kean also charged a Hudson County contractor, Hindsight Inc., donated $4,000 to Menendez five days after Menendez wrote a letter of recommendation on Congressional stationery.

Hindsight, a data management firm, later won a $4 million contract with the county, even though its bid for the work was not the lowest submitted. Menendez has said he had nothing to do with awarding the contract and Hindsight executives have been longtime supporters.
