: Hey Judy Anne Reilly Now What??? Are You looking for another job? : But Healy disputed the police account and today said the police assaulted him and his wife during the arrest early Sat. morning. : At his beach house this afternoon, Healy showed scabs on his forehead, and ear, as well as leg scabs he said he got when police threw him to the pavement face-first and handcuffed him. He also held out his wrists to display long pink scratches he said he sustained when police yanked him from the ground by the cuffs. : Healy's wife, Maureen, described watching officer Terry Browning hold her husband to the ground with a knee behind his neck. She said Browning asked another officer for Mace and then sprayed her husband in his left eye before walking around his prostrate body to spray him in the right eye. : Maureen Healy then held up her own right hand to show green and purple bruises on her swollen middle finger. She said she got the bruises when police pushed her to the ground after she tried to hand her husband his glasses, which had flown off during the arrest. : A man answering the phone this afternoon at Browning's house declined to comment. : In a statement released this afternoon, acting Deputy Police Chief Leonard W. Guida of Bradley Beach said officers responded around 2 a.m. Sat. to a report that there was a loud dispute on Main Street near Barry’s Tavern. : The tavern is owned by Healy’s sister and brother-in-law. : Police said the mayor approached the scene and “continued to involve himself in the situation, contrary to officers instructions,” even after being warned that he would be arrested if he remained at the scene. When Healy refused to leave, police said they arrested him, jailing him for about 90 minutes and charging him with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. : MAB reorganizion November 2006.
