What do you expect? Healy and Lipski are a couple of drunks!

: Jersey City Police Chief Comey has taken action against Ward C Councilman Steve Lipski and two of Lipski's staff members for allegedly stealing beverages from the refrigerator located in Mayor Jerramiah Healy's executive office.

: The incident is said to have taken place in June of 2006 during a visit by Ward C Councilman Steve Lipski and Lipski's staff.

: Community activists Mia Scanga questioned why it took so long to report the incident, accusing them of a "cover-up". Chief Comey said that it is now being treated as a major security breach.

: During the visit last month, the Mayor's Chief of Staff Carl Czaplicki panicked when he discovered the missing beverages. He said Lipski and his staff were completely cavalier and irresponsible in their behavior. A security alert was immediately sounded when they discovered the disappearance of two six packs of Miller Light in bottles, two 20 ounce cans of Guinness Stout, and one 12 ounce bottle of Leinenkugel.

: The beverages were later discovered in the trunk of Councilman Lipski's car.

: A spokesman for the Jersey City Police Department said on Tuesday that its internal inquiry had established beyond doubt that the alcoholic beverages had been stolen during Councilman Lipski's visit.

: When the councilman was confronted, he said, "Jerry should just drop this or he can kiss my vote for ABM Warehouse goodbye"!

: Lipski and his staff are now likely to be charged with the theft.
: The Mayor's Director of Communications Maria Pignataro had no comment.
