: Kean Sr. takes a look back

: On Thursday, former Gov. Tom Kean, 76, showed up at the Liberty House restaurant in Liberty State Park in Jersey City to kick off a publicity tour for his biography, "Governor Tom Kean: From the New Jersey Statehouse to the 9-11 Commission." 

: There were jokes about finding 100 Republicans in one room in Hudson County, and county Republican Chairman Jose Arango suggested he joined the GOP after leaving Cuba, which was ruled by Fidel Castro, and Spain, under the command of Francisco Franco, and arriving in Hudson County, which is dominated by the Democratic Party. It all gave rise to partisan laughter.

: At the event were several notables, including former Jersey City Mayor and GOP ex-gubernatorial candidate Bret Schundler, former Hudson County Executive and county Democratic Party Chairman Bernard Hartnett, ex-Jersey City Redevelopment agency head Mark Munley, city political activist Bobby Jackson and an assortment of countywide personalities.
