Below is the text of a letter from an attorney dated 12/28/07, postmarked 01/09/08.
For Links to background information, the Web Page in question, and scans of the attorney's letter, please see:

In 2005, GETNJ.com was subpoenaed by the Jersey City Police Department in an attempt to learn the identity of a source. The Jersey City local government banned the Web Site at City Hall in 2006.

Re: Anthony Amico
Dear Mr. Olszewski:
This letter is to advise you that I represent Anthony Amico. My client has discovered that you have a website which continues to recite that my client is the subject of a postal inspection. The referenced inspection was closed and no action was ever taken against Mr. Amico. The facts you state are simply not true. The information on your website is incorrect, slanderous, and constitutes damage to my client's reputation.
Please immediately remove all information regarding my client from your website. On the event that you fail to remove all information concerning my client from your website, then my client has authorized me to take the appropriate legal action to protect his reputation.
Please govern yourself accordingly.
If you need further information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Very truly, yours,
Thomas C. Little

| So, if you change the website to say Mr. Amico was the subject of a postal inspection, does that make it ok? I wish I had become a lawyer instead of working for a living. |

The Page quotes an official State of New Jersey Commission of Investigation report dated 1989.
It's going to be a real groundbreaking case, hinging on what the definition of "is" is. Is "is" in 1989 the same as "was" is (will be?) in 2008?
And then of course there's that amusement park of civil suits -- depositions.

I just use this photo to fool those intent on seeing that I don't get a chance to collect social security! |
