S****'s MO is to take her speculations and write them in a manner and authoritative style that would lead someone to think it is actually the case.

The power of suggestion.

Don't let it fool you.

PTMG,

As far as I know, the only input the Lefrak organization has added to Kim's store, is to recently veto his request to sell porn. There has to be some guidelines to protect the neighborhood. Although we are all saddened by Kim's circumstances, the problem is not Lefrak's fault, it was most likely created by Kim. I'm theorizing an inspection of his financial/marketing records would reveal very poor financial planning, and in particular, a problem with cost.

Take for example the price of a video that sells for $20 at Kim's, but the exact same item sells for $10 at BJ's, which one would you buy? Kim's may actually have a smaller mark-up than BJ's, but pays his supplier more money for the item. Thus, in order to compete, Kim must find suppliers that will sell him his inventory at close to the same or less cost than BJ's is paying his supplier. This is just basic 101 going into business practices, but some entrepreneurs overlook the importance of developing a strong, viable, business plan in advance.

Again, Kim has my sympathy, but it's unfair to pass responsibility for his situation off to the landlord or anyone else. At the end of the day, Kim is facing the consequences of his own actions.

How would she know what problems this business owner has run into?

Has she ever spoken to him?

Who is Sonia to write on a public message board the private business dealings of a small business owner?

Why hasn't she asked the honest question of why other businesses have had this kind of problem in the area?

She's done it before to other businesses.

She wants community? Sonia should learn that communities come together during times of need, not shoot from behind

Obviously, she has spoken with both the business owner, and the landlord and is basing a theory on those discussions.

I remember how it was a couple of years ago. everyone was dying to have Kim's around, and then when they did get there, everyone switched to netflix. Those market priced rent payers did not rent videos from Kim's. And now S**** suggests we have a Best Buy around. Does she even understand what a neighborhood store is? Circuit City and Best Buy are not neighborhood stores. And she has the audacity to suggest that CC/BB can absorb losses so thats ok. She knows nothing about running a business.

Where are all of the Circuit City / Best Buy shoppers going to park? In front of Starbucks?

No, it's not obvious that she spoke to Kim or any of the business owners, actually, from her own writing, it's pretty obvious that she hasn't since she never says that.

I know for fact that in at least one situation, at the time she wrote a post, she speculated, used incorrect information and never spoke with the business.

It seems more likely she is parroting Lefrak Organization talking points. She seems to have knowledge of private, non public information, like with the rape victim. Where else would she learn such things, unless someone at LeFrak is sharing them with her? Is that Jamie's hand moving her jaws?

We know who you are wrote:
Justiciero,

Of course Sonia knows who you are. You're the half naked cowboy with the hat. And, for your information, you are mistaken about freedom of speech being completely without consequences. Your words can have consequences. If your words hurt someone, you are responsible.

When Sonia decides to sue you, she will.

So she knows who I am? Then why does she claim I run a neighborhood association and am on Fulop's payroll? If she knows who I am its likely because Minnie told her. And Minnie knows who I am because I was one of the folks that defended her in her tiff with the HPNA. I guess that no good deed goes unpunished.

As for speech having "consequences," I guess our squat friend should have stayec in Law School a tad longer before she "broke through" the door on her way to actuarial school.

I don't like Sonia, and I am under no compulsion to hide that fact. I could, if I so desired, sit on top of my house (which I own, rather than rent, not too bad for a "moderate income" person, eh?) and announce my dislike for her with a megaphone. This is neither the UK. nor Canada, nor other countries with civil rather than common law traditions where we are bound by the law to respect other people's "feelings." I want Sonia to feel bad about herself, as she is in fact a bad person, and she ought to feel ashamed for her behaviour. She ought also to feel ashamed for her incivility, her assumption of aristocratic privilidge, her general ignorance, and her boorishness. As well as for her habit of deception and megalomania. Perhaps, if she developed some sort of inner moral sense that could lead her to the proper shameful view of her behaviour, she might eventually be reformed. But I ain't holding my breath.

If Sonia were capable of suing me, she would have doens o long ago, and attempting to make me afraid of her by threating some looming, unspecified future legal action is ridiculous for two reasons. 1-if she starts a frivilous lawsuit she will have to pay for it, as well as a non-frivolous countersuit. And she probably can't. 2- I have more legal juice and ready capital in my corner than she does. It's nice to have a few judge advocate generals in the family, innit?

When Sonia first threatened to sue everyone on jclist, I showed the thread to a lawyer friend of mine. They said she has no case. You can't sue someone for having an opinion. There's enough evidence on the internet to back up your opinion. It's not hurting her business or taking away customers.

There need not be any evidence backing up an opinion. The fact that Malcriado has amply demonstrated all the claims that people make about her lack of character by her behaviour is neither here nor there. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even loathsome troglodytes, and they are entitled to share it with others.

End of the story.

Treble damages?

Plus, you don't know what money damages are being claimed. Some of the federal statutes subject defendents to possible treble damages. So, it's almost certain there will be some money damages claimed. You also don't know for certain who she will name as defendants, not even Justiciero knows.

Will you stop with the threats already? Judges hate frivolous lawsuits and you know it. You could never find a reputable attorney to take on your case.
