NWA is governed by a Board of Trustees. We have extensive bylaws, which guide the way we operate and which were accepted by the Federal government prior to granting us 501(c)(3) status. The bylaws may be amended, if needed, but essentially all major decision-making is vested in the board. The President of the Board, or "President" is elected by the Board Members. In order to get on the Board, you must be approved by the Board first, and have attended several meetings, I believe it's at least three, so that people know who you are. There are no "surprise" Candidates running for office at NWA.

NWA has fifteen seats available for eligible persons on it's Board of Trustees.

Is NWA like a day job where people get paid; or is it a volunteer driven organization?

Completely volunteer driven, we have no payroll. For your info, we are structured as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization.

So to become a member of the board you need to attend three meetings. But the catch is NWA NEVER has meetings. So no one would ever be able to get on to the board, and she will remain President for life!
